Event Details

Choose from five super workshops relating to writing for money and how to successfully access paying markets.  Held by the Atlantic Region of the Professional Writers Association of Canada and the Canadian Freelance Union at Mt. Allison University, Sackville,  NB, July 9 - 11, 2010.

 

            Saturday, July 10th

  • Workshop AMarketing your Freelance Writing Services with emphasis on using or not using Social Media. Paul Lima, freelance writer, author and trainer will reveal five arrows you can access to market your writing services and how to use them effectively.                                                                                        Saturday - 9 am
  • Workshop B- Regrettably JulieWatson has cancelled due to family illnesses
  • Workshop C- Road map to  Billions of Dollars in Federal Government Goods and Services work  and Writing Contracts.  Marion Soubliere,  a professional writing contractor from Ottawa will help you understand government's confusing procurement system and online tendering through the government special web site.                                                                                   Saturday - 1 pm
  • Workshop DSearch Engine Optimization  Paul Lima's second workshop will show you how to apply a dozen simple, cost-effective (most of them free)SEO techniques to boost your website or blog in search engine results.                                                                                            Saturday - 1 pm

    Sunday, July 11th
  • Workshop E- How to write a winning proposal for publishers. Learn first hand from Akoulina Connell, Managing Editor of Goose Lane Editions, an award winning New Brunswick publisher.                                            Sunday - 9 am
     
      
  • Workshop F- Whose Story is it Anyway? Author Johanna Bertin discusses research and ethical dilemmas faced in writing biographies based on her recent experience writing Don Messer, The Man behind the Music. Learn about the pitfalls and rewards of writing biographies.                                             Sunday 9 - am

           Registration cost includes three of five workshops, breakfasts, lunches & coffee.
